Many people tend to get annoyed by how around the end of the summer, Christmas decorations and paraphernalia appear in the store. Even in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Santa is the main event. I feel like people should wait at least two weeks before December 25th to start celebrating Christmas. Some places that already have decorations are Stop & Shop, Target, Home Depot, Snows, CVS, Ace Hardware, Agway, and, obviously, The Christmas Tree Shop. The point is, if you have decorations up for the holidays already, then after a while the magic is gone and it gets boring. Also, there should be fall decorations up in fall! Plus some people consider it bad luck to put decorations up early.

But all of this is not the point of the article. The point of this article is to answer the question of why stores have Christmas stuff up so early. Some people say it is because putting Christmas stuff up early can make you happier. But, in my opinion, it seems to be mostly a marketing ploy.  In fact, it is often known as “The Christmas Creep.” The “Christmas Creep” allows sellers to lengthen their selling times for Christmas merchandise in order to maximize profits. As someone who loves Christmas, I believe that Black Friday should not overshadow the Christmas season. The “Christmas Creep” is basically taking a favorite holiday and turning it into a scam. All I’m saying is that even holiday enthusiasts should be patient and wait to decorate.
